Christ Did His Part...

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23

Christ wore a crown of thorns so that one day you could wear a crown of righteousness (Mt. 27:29).

His back was pressed against the cross so that you'd have somewhere to turn when your back is against the wall (Heb. 12:2).

His hand opened to accept the nails so that one day your heart would accept Him (John 20:25).

His blood covered the ground so that it would also cover your sins (Col. 1:20).

He rose from the dead in order to prove that there is no seperating the righteous from the love of God. If we are followers of Christ, not even something as permenant as death could seperate us from our Savior (Mt 25:46).

..But it comes at a price.

Jesus tells us in Luke 9:23 you must be willing to deny yourself daily in order to follow Him. Just as Jesus had took up His cross, we're supposed to follow His example and take up ours (Mt. 10:38). After all, faith without works is dead (James 2:20-26).

Jesus did His part perfectly. Are you willing to do yours?
